Brief Overview

  

  • We have created a brand-new product that combines a newly upgraded version of an engine treatment that we have sold in over 80 countries since 1996 (25 years).


  • Over the last 25 years, we have sold over 38,000,000 bottles of MotorUp in over 80 countries. 


  • Our original product’s brand name is MotorUp. www.motorup.com in Europe and www.motorup.jp in Japan.


  • Our new product will be named MotorUp REBOOT.

old USP (Unique Selling Proposition) HISTORY

  • The story behind our unique selling proposition here is as follows:


  • Our engine treatment’s claim to fame has been its ability to help engine reduce friction which in turn results in less wear and tear – and less wear and tear leads to longer lasting engine.


  • Now this is not such a big deal if you just leased or purchased a new car or you are replacing your car every 3 to 5 years. 


  • However, if you are like most people that have limited budgets and have to hold on to that old clunker a few years longer than you would like, more than likely you are going to begin experiencing lots of small and possibly large costly repairs.

our current status

  • While MotorUp continues to be sold in many countries around the world including Japan which is the biggest market.


  • Sales are not what they use to be. In Japan, we might sell 50,000 units a year and not a penny is spent on advertising, marketing, new product development in over 12 years.


  • Today, it is a small brand within a larger business unit with its primary market in Japan.


  • Today, with your help we hope to make it rise once again as many well known brands have been reborn through clever marketing. We hope to be amongst those that have succeeded in successfully rebooting their brands (no pun intended).

the extended car warranty

  • Many customers with older vehicles that have seen their warranties expire are likely to consider purchasing an extended car warranty. 


  • The annual cost of an extended car warranty can range from $350 to $700 a year depending on the make, model, mileage and vehicles age.


  • During a very hard economy, it’s real hard if you do and hard if you don’t. The risk of not having insurance is simply not worth worrying about.


  • Customers buy it because it is far cheaper than insurance and can potentially add a few more miles to their old high mileage vehicles. 

OUR IDEA PROCESS

  • Our team began considering what can be done to help MotorUp grow once again.


  • We considered upgrading the formula but nothing we can do is going to create the level of excitement that can have a real impact on sales.


  • But one thing kept coming up over and over again. 


  • We knew the reason customers purchased MotorUp was because they wanted to extend the useful life of their engine and that where it hit us.


  • We already sell engine insurance / warranties currently as a completed separate from our engine treatment business at www.motorupwarranty.com.  


  • However, we have no competitive edge over large car warranty companies.

the eureka moment

  1. We started to think about another related industry. LIFE INSURANCE.
  2. In the life insurance industry, what factors affect your life insurance premium rate?
  3. i) Age
  4. ii) Smoking
  5. iii) Lifestyle
  6. iv) Driving record
  7. v) Gender
  8. vi) Health
  9. vii) Family medical history
  10. viii) and even DNA testing can influence your rates.

The obvious question was...

  • Can MotorUp Engine Treatment affect the insurance / warranty premiums so significantly that using MotorUp can replace the cost of an expensive engine warranty?

the answer shocked us...

  • We considered that since our formula was responsible for keeping engines on the road longer, perhaps insurance companies would consider charging less to our customers.


  • This is where it got really good.


  • After an in-depth actuarial study was completed, the cost to insure an engine against damage when using MotorUp was more ninety-three (93%) less that the average cost we would have to pay an insurance company to provide the same coverage.

AN unthinkable idea suddenly became the unstoppable one

  1. The answer is "FREE".
  2. We can afford to include a warranty that we normally sell for $300 a year - absolutely free.
  3. When they purchase either of our two new products which replace the existing ones.
  4. Upgraded formula
  5. $300 engine warranty - free.

deliverables

  • Create new packaging with catch copy and description for our new retail consumer packaging products the captures the essence of our story.


  • Combine a physical product (an engine oil additive) with our insurance / warranty service – a $300 value.


  • We are able to do this because our unique formula reduces the likelihood of engine failure thus making the cost of the warranty up to 10x more affordable than other industry players.


  • Now the y do not have to buy a warranty when they buy MotorUp REBOOT Engine Treatment.


  • If you purchased a stand-alone engine warranty, it could cost hundreds of dollars or more.


  • MotorUp REBOOT Engine Treatment and Engine Warranty will be priced the same ranging from $39 to $59 US Dollars.

MotorUp REBOOT Brand Guidelines and Description

  1. Logo for MotorUp. We have a logo but I think we can upgrade the color from the current orange red to a new red we will identify in the jpg pics of drafts we have created internally.
  2. The new sub-brand is REBOOT. No logo exists yet for this.
  3. Front of box:  Selling points – you will have the freedom to create as you feel best sells the story.
  4. Established or Since 1996, or reference 25 years – (on the top left, add either)
  5. MotorUp (brand)
  6. REBOOT (sub-brand)
  7. Description: Upgraded Engine Treatment and Warranty (descriptor) – feel free to improve this
  8.  (Note to packaging experts)
    I realize that not all the selling points will survive since we now have 2 products, we are technically selling instead of one. Feel free to choose or create what makes most sense based on the story and current .

  16. $10,000 engine repair or replacement which covers them for up to 10,000 kilometers, till their next oil change (as recommended by the vehicle maker and up to 500,000 kilometers total).
